Advocacy
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Mead
As a small non-profit, Family HomeStead depends on its volunteers, board members, auxiliary and friends to help advocate for homeless families.
Simply put, advocacy means becoming educated and speaking out on issues that are important to you. Advocacy occurs over time and can take many forms from casual conversations to manning an information booth to participating in public policy debates. We encourage all friends of Family HomeStead to become familiar with our core values and programs. We encourage you to educate yourself about how current events and public policy impact our mission. And we encourage you to take thoughtful action to help homeless families.
If you are interested in becoming an advocate for Family HomeStead and our client families at any level, please contact us.
